Even though Vegas isn't as intuitive as MovieMaker was, I think I'm hooked on using it to make FS videos - now I can make them in full widescreen HD (no more watching a teeny tiny video or have it very blurry if it's in fullscreen mode).

Very nice mate love the slow pans ,sony V is a very good editor ,what settings did you use out of interest on the final render ?

The settings in the final render were 8Mbps HD 1080-30p .wmv format with 5.1 surround sound - the final product was a whopping 232mb in size. The slow pans were courtesy of hovering over the airfields in a helo that doesn't have a VC (and the engine/cockpit sounds muted).

Ah yup thanks ,when you edit the clip down to the timeline you can split the sound from the footage by right clicking on the crop before you drag it down ,there is so much you can learn in this great bit of software have fun

also there is a great bit of software called sorenson squeeze that will compress it down to bugger all before the upload ,sadly its not cheap but is a very good compression tool ..

One of the first things I noticed about Vegas is that you can yank the original sound (engines, cockpit, environment, ect.) out of the video track if needed for the shot Another nice thing is being able to crop the "replay" and "traffic replay" and other like messages out of the video by cropping off the bottom portion where those messages appear. I also like being able to have multiple audio tracks

I have also found another fun resource that I'm going to try working into future videos - LiveATC.net. They offer streaming (and downloadable in mp.3 if you have the right Firefox add-ons) real world ATC from a sizable number of airports around the globe. I've tried it in regular flights and it adds a significant "real world" feel to the flight to hear live voices instead of FS9's semi robotic ones.
