Hi guys,

user posted image

This weekend the NZ Division at IVAO is having a group flight from Wellington to Christchurch. We'll have ATC rolled out for you, and you can try out the B733 in ANZ or Freedom Air varient (blue engine nacelles) liveries that have just been added to the MTL. :D Its at 07:30 Zulu time, which is 8:30pm here in NZ.

This event counts towards the 10 you need to get the Pilot Events Award if flying, or ATC Events Award if controlling. ;)

See you there,

Alex

That was a good night, I had four outbound out of nzch, two to NZMF and two going up to wellington. Alex come on control just in time for me to hand them all of, thn the only other pilot I saw was a swiss guy who disconected when I cleared him to enter a visual pattern to land  I think I scarerd him of, poor guy

Pity there wasn't more chc/wellingotn traffic, funny thing is I saw no 733s haha herc, 320, ATR... ah well

Looking forward to the next event!

Yeah it was a fun night, a nice bit of traffic :)

It's a bit of a shame when people can't/won't fly a visual approach though :o

I took some screenshots. I was the Herc :D

Clearance copied, started up (still not getting much faster with the ole C130 startup sequence though)

The initial climbout. It was a kinda slow climb initially.

Descending, just southeast of blenheim here. I was cleared down initially to 9000, then to 3000. I requested the VOR/DME approach.

..for which I was cleared for by Alex. Here I am going inbound on the 353 radial. Time for some fun!

It looks like I'm pretty high doesn't it?

Niiice and smooth, but unfortunately to the right of the centreline.

I decided I'd hold my nosewheel up as far as I could for as long as I could.

It only hit the bitumen at 44 knots!

So uh, that's it :D One of the better nights of IVAOing I've had.
