I thought some of you might be interested in this event, which is set to last until the 12th of November with different flights nearly every day. It is also good because both FSX and FS9 have DC3's as default aircraft, but you can fly this event in any other aircraft, as long as you enjoy it, so everyone can fly this event
As some of you may or may not know Southern DC3 based in Ashburton is going to be retiring one of New Zealand’s only DC3's in service, this event is to commemorate the long service of ZK-AMY, which has seen plenty in her life from 1944 to the present. Southern DC3 is going to gift this Aircraft to the Ashburton Museum so it remains in New Zealand hands, and also hope to keep it fully serviceable. Southern DC3 will be flying the DC3 around the heartland of the South Island in order to pay off the remaining debt belonging to this aircraft when they purchased it.
And this event will also be flying the exact route; this magnificent aircraft will fly, as it tours the Heartland. All these routes can be flown direct or VFR following rivers, roads and valleys. Just have fun mixing up your journey and have fun finding the diffrent airports.
Note: Some of these airports may not be easy to find or not exist, so use your best judgement and land safely, as close as you can get to the real airstrip, if your version of Flight Simulator does not have the airportThe Route is as followsOctober 2008Saturday 25th

More Information can be found at
http://www.southerndc3.com/index.cfm/conta...r_brochure.htmlIMPORTANT:When flying this route make sure you use the Callsign HRTXXXX, Heartland, the X's are a number you choose, because not everyone can fly as ZK-AMY eg. HRT8056, Heartland 8056, this way people know you are flying this event and wont bother you about Squawk codes, because DC3's don’t Squawk
