Sunday Night Ops
Ohakea Sector
Sunday 03rd July 2011 1900-2300 NZST / 1700-2100 AEST / 0700-1100 UTC

Ohakea Control is one of New Zealand's six enroute radar sectors. It encompasses a large portion of the North Island including the Ohakea Airforce base. The area is commonly used as a training area for new RNZAF pilots in the real world. It also covers Palmerston North, Masterton, Wanganui and Napier. The sector is one of the least active on VATNZ as it covers mainly regional airports but this Sunday that will change...

Join us on Sunday 3 July as we open up the Ohakea sector for all to enjoy. Bring your favourite aircraft - be it a military fighter or a small turboprop and explore the VATNZ's Ohakea sector. Flying between Ohakea (NZOH), Wanganui (NZWU), Palmerston North (NZPM), Masterton (NZMS) and Napier (NZNR), take to the skies and see what the airspace will bring.
