Let's see how many people we can get online!

Date: Saturday, 2 August 2014

Time: 1:30pm New Zealand time.

Simulator: FSX

Virtual Location:
Starting at Taupo. Have Mike's (Creator2003's) now freeware Taupo installed!
http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/...ns-taupox-nzap/

Grab HamiltonX too...
http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/files/...hamiltonx-nzhn/

Route:
TBD....suggestions?

Update....currently thinking NZHN - NZAP - NZNR and maybe further south.

Aircraft:
We had great success with the Virtavia A-4 Skyhawk last time, so the same or similar may work out well.
Participants, please discuss so we get a consensus on what aircraft people may have. Strongly prefer that everyone at least has the same aircraft and repaint in their hangar so people appear correctly, even if the participant doesn't wish to fly that specific type. If anyone has a suggestion for any great freeware aircraft of similar size, speed, and capability, that would be great too!

Weather:
Prefer real world weather unless it turns out to be absolutely awful.

Host:
Ian, if you are willing to host, that worked out great, but I don't want to put you on the spot.
If anyone else is willing to host or knows of a good hosting service, please advise. I tried initially during out last flight without success, but it would likely be easier if the host was NZ-based for the majority.

Teamspeak:

If you are interested, please leave a message stating so!
Let's see how many people we can get into a group flight.

Just reinstalled the Metal2Mesh F-15E (IRIS F-15E with avionics upgrade) and allegedly it has shared cockpit too.

Again, interested parties...please post.

Hey Sean. I've started a thread over here to list freeware options for future multi-plays, add to it as you think of stuff, we can refer to it when planning events...

So...any ideas as to what aircraft we're leaning towards using for the event, noting that there doesn't seem to be much interest (yet)?

How bout a DC3 site seeing trip from Taupo around Tongariro and back? Nice low-n-slow action, plenty to see.

Marn ... good idea , That is the ideal aircraft for newbies to try out , course you have the Manfred Jahn and teams freeware model (Dean add to the list) and some exciting paints to go with it and everyone on the same level ! , done a MP with 20 plus , prob nearing 30 at one stage ... that was fun ! cool.gif

OK, either the Manfred model, or the default with either of these two liveries?

I go the MJ directly, course will suit if loaded , everyone has to have the texture and the specific model for it to show .. these for the default based builds all work as long as you have the texture for each model build .

Might seem like a silly question, but does anyone know if P3D and FSX will multiplay / online play together?

Can't join in, because I will be right out of bandwidth, and it doesn't reset until the 3rd, but I'll be there in spirit.

Connection preferences:

Historically, our successful FSX multiplayer flights have been through a direct connection within FSX. This means that we did not go through FSHost, which would enable FS9 and P3D people to join.

Is there a preference to use FSHost, noting that the experience won't be nearly as smooth for formation flying in FSX, or are we using FSX exclusively?

Hi John and big Welcome to NZFF, cool.gif ... You are going to enjoy the Multiplay, what also is required is a simple desktop mic and connection using TeamSpeak3 - that simply makes it so much easier but also get to meet the group which is extra cool ... MJs DC-3 .. ooooh boy that model is getting better and better , a super quality VC done by Jan Visser is incoming , much all photoreal based from the Wigram Museums hanger queen.

John,

If you're using FSX, we usually will do a direct IP connection (within FSX multiplayer...) to Ian's system. He can lead you through it, as it's a pretty straightforward process (at least connecting is).
