There is a new FS multiplayer technology on the horizon. It bypasses the simulator's on multiplayer engine, using a custom comm protocol. I'm not big on MP in general but the feature list sounds just to good to ignore:

High quality voice communication* (press TAB key inside FSX/P3D/XPlane while talking. Also note that only pilots on the same freq - COM 1 - as you are can hear you).

Gain some points as you fly! You gain points based on how far you fly. The true distance counts, so flying circles will not bring you points. Also dont exceed an average (!) speed of around 500 kts.

Enjoy 24-7-English ATC. Just hit the ENTER key inside FSX(P3D/XPlane for contacting the ATC service. For changing ICAO click on the upper right corner of your FSCloud© client where it states "Change". If you change ICAO inside the cloud, your COM1 will automatically switched to the correct tower frequency.

Easy installation - Alot of effort went into "out of the box usability". Just download, unpack, run it. There are no entries to your registry or other installation hassles. No manual configuation file editing required. The software should run just by a click

Scripted but spoken as far as I can tell

It looks very promising, but while I understand the need for RW testing, I prefer to let other folk banjax their machines before I risk mine.
I can have full-screen because I have a home network - that is good, because for me, lack of full-screen is a deal breaker.
Not sure why there is a "points system" - when you have Ghanpa Super Powers as I do , you know you are the greatest, so there is no need to keep proving it
But all jokes aside, it looks like a very useful addition to the FSX world.

Well, ignoring my own advice, I have been playing with FSCloud.
Installed OK on SuperBeast . It connected to something, but it was not NZFF. I told it to go to the URL provided in the recent MP posts (atl01... etc) but it seems to be insisting on the IP numbers, even tho' there is nothing to say it can't resolve the URL. However, I could see myself on the map, see other planes, hear the ATC so it essentially works, it is just not connecting to where I want it to. FSCloud uses Teamspeak for its comms, and I have no trouble reaching Ian on my Teamspeak. A bit odd that FSC does not recognise existing TS installations and bookmarks. I haven't found any import tool so far. Mebbe it just needs Ian to have FSC on his server.

The real problem is that I want FSC on MiniBeast, talking to FSX on SuperBeast, and it doesn't want to play nicely. Mini has a basic default FSX. The Readme for FSC is not clear on whether you need SP1, SP2, and Acc as well as the SDK, but I upgraded the install with SP1a from my RTM disk. The help for that showed me where to find the SP2 upgrade, but when I tried to install that, it refused because I did not have SP1 installed !!! It still throws up the error 'Can't find SimConnect or parts thereof'
Interesting times....
Would appreciate any advice, suggestions etc from anyone who has FSCloud working on a LAN.

I must admit, when using the FS Cloud, in-built, "Radar Satellite map", I also like to include my "FS Tramp" and "Plan-G" Radar maps to give me all the Radio Navigation beacon, etc, frequencies, to load into my Radio Stack!
They also show all the other Multiplayer Chaps who are on-line at the same time.

I find "FS Cloud" most useful for instantly getting a connection to Multiplayer with my Mates, and I avoid the serious, complicated, "professional" part of the program!.... ....!

Anything "complicated" or "serious" always gives me a head-ache, and spoils my enjoyment!... ...!

It does have the advantage that selected Chums can get together for a reliable, 24/7 connection to Multiplayer to fly their own agreed fly-ins, routes, etc!....
...and their names will appear in the list of Pilots on-line..... ...!
(Just make sure that you all recognise each others connection "names"!).
