Flight Club - October 9th - Invercargill to Milford Sound
Welcome to the VATNZ flight club,
The ultimate goal of the flight club is to visit the remote airports of New Zealand that you would normally soar past at FL280. This is the chance to use the smaller fleet of aircraft in your hangar and take yourself out of your comfort zone while seeing some of the most stunning areas of New Zealand.
We are a very helpful and friendly group and are welcoming all skill levels of pilots to join us for a couple fun packed hours. Bring along your Cessna or Piper, even a helicopter will do!
So come and join us next thursday, you will have plenty of fun.

For the first flight of the VATNZ flight club we will be focusing on a scenic flight from Invercargill to Milford Sound. .
Departure Time: Thursday 9th October 2008 19:00
Flight Time: 2 - 2.5hrs (Depending on aircraft used)
Route:
However if you feel like you cannot follow specific landmarks to each waypoint you may track direct to each airport.
Late-comers: Late-comers or people not wanting to fly the whole route can join us from Te Anau (NZTZ) at around 20:00
Voice Channel: General pilot-to-pilot voice chat during this will be available on rw1.vatpac.org/vatnzflightclub.
(Use the Private Voice Chat in SB or the Company Frequency feature in FSInn to tune this server.)
For further enjoyment of this flight I recommend you have the following,
- Red Baron New Zealand Land Class
- Geographx 75m Mesh or 20m Mesh (payware)
- Roads and Rivers of New Zealand (payware)
NOTE: there is a MAJOR bug with the NZMF in the default FSX scenery that results in an 850ft high airport-shaped plateau that shoots up from the floor of the sound. If you are using FSX you need to install this scenery update to fix the problem. FS2004 is not afflicted with this issue.
If you have any questions please PM me, or reply to this thread.
