You may have seen some NZR aircraft flying around New Zealand lately and I thought I’d tell you a bit about the group. The NZR or Virtual New Zealand Relief Force will be helping protect and ensure the survival of New Zealand’s interests regionally and overseas. This will be done through operations and events in where the members are more than welcome to join in.

This Air Group will be initially flying the Royal New Zealand Airforce aircraft, including but not limited to the Hercules, Orion's, NH90 Helicopters and the Air Trainers which will be in use to help new members, upon request, become familiar with New Zealand flying procedures. We also have systems in place so you can fly other aircraft, which are not in the fleet, for this Air Group. Plus even ways to suggest new aircraft for the fleet. We are currently looking into adding Boeings and Airbuses to our international routes and Fighter jets for some of our "Military" relief efforts.

This Air Group is rather different in the way we do things, I would even say dynamic, because we are constantly moving forward in terms of events and operations that you can participate in. There is no counting of hours, and no letting you go if you don’t put enough in, you can fly as little or as much as you would like. We encourage flying the operations specified for each airbase but you may fly other routes at anytime under this air group's callsign. There are however incentives to flying the operations provided, such as changes in reputations towards this Air Group from regions of New Zealand and overseas. Also Bases of operations and facility bases opening up and closing due to flights and operations to and from these bases, and reputations will be taken into account when placing our facilities.
Currently we are based out of Christchurch and are trying to establish bases of operations in Ohakea and Whenuapai, along with a repair facility at Woodbourne. We currently have operations to the West Coast, Antarctica and the Chattams, and our first event on the 30th of December where we will be flying Alcohol into Gisborne for new years, and this is just the beginning

Feel free to come check it out and join up at this address.

Future Happenings
Over the next few weeks, on the technical side of things, we will be in the process of designing a website and forums for the air group. The forums however are now complete and available to be signed up at. The address is as follows http://www.vnzrf.tk/ you will need to register, wait for me to authenticate it and then you may post on these forums. This will allow me to make sure you have posted an application before you’re allowed to access the forums. This forum does not contain ads which is a bonus, and we are currently looking into different templates for the forum which will be trialled.
We will also be bringing Ohakea or Amber Wing online soon as Operation Opening Doors continues this squadron will be operating B757’s, Beech King Air’s and UH1H Helicopters; we have future ideas to deploy a fighter squadron here also. This squadron will be servicing the North Island and the majority of overseas regions. A new operations manager will soon head up Ohakea and this will be a tremendous help to the organisation.

Also because of our involvement on the West Coast in operation Rainy Day more relief flights operating out of Hokitika and Westport will become available to remote villages in the Alps such as Mount Cook, Glenorchy, Milford etc along with air drops overhead Arthurs Pass and Lewis Pass at low level through the valleys. These will involve flying our aircraft out of Christchurch, loading up at either of the two bases on the West Coast and making the drops at the specified bases.
As you can see the more involved you are in different operations the more reputation we gain from districts, which means the more facilities we can place and the more items/operations that become unlocked. The following link shows our current reputations http://vnzrf.muux.org/reputation-with-regions-t22.html

Current Fleet
Hercules C130 - RNZAF
P3 Orion - RNZAF
Beech King Air - RNZAF
Air Trainer - RNZAF
Boeing 757 - RNZAF
UH1H Iroquois - RNZAF
NH90 - RNZAF

In the future we hope to continue our humanitarian efforts to New Zealand and her interests but due to the number of facilities needed by our force we will need to implement civilian aircraft to service our bases with passenger flights. We will rent these aircraft off Air New Zealand to fly our personal, however our pilots will also be encouraged to make extra passenger flights to earn the Force revenue in order to fund our humanitarian efforts. These aircraft will be based in Whenuapai to allow us to be based close to Auckland Intl, the main hub for Air New Zealand, and will be known as Jade wing.

Future Fleet will include:
Beech 1900D - ANZ
ATR72-500 - ANZ
Boeing 737 - ANZ
More may follow...
