It's been 13 Weeks of entertainment since we first started watching the glorious polygons of virtual New Zealand load past us and we are almost halfway through our journey. Join in with Flight Club this Thursday and become part of this great milestone of virtual flying in VATNZ.
This week come join us and let yourself have a great time flying as we leave sunny Coromandel on the east coast and head off for Dargaville in Northland. All pilots are welcome to come and join the VATNZ Flight Club no matter what your skill level is.
During this flight we will head out to the north from Coromandel and go to Great Barrier Island where we will touch and go a couple airports. Following that we will head back to the mainland and cross over to the west coast where we will follow the coast and one highway to get to our final destination, Dargaville.
Departure Time: Thursday 22nd January 2009 19:00
Flight Time: 1.0 to 1.5hrs
Route:
If you feel unfamiliar with the route you can follow another pilot who knows where they are going!
Late-comers: Late-comers or pilots not wanting to come for the full flight can join us from Kaipara Flats at around 19:50

Route:
- Leave Coromandel (NZCX) and track to the north up the Coromandel Peninsula and then move further north for Great Barrier Island. Touch and go at Great Barrier (NZGB), thence head direct up to Okiwi Station (NZOX) and perform t&g.
- From Okiwi Station fly back towards the mainland via Kawau Island. From Kawau Island fly west to Kaipara Flats (NZKF), perform t&g.
- From Kaipara Flats cross over to the west coast of the island to Pouto Point
- At Pouto point follow the peninsula to SH12
- Follow SH12 to Dargaville (NZDA) for a full stop landing.
