G3d.dll Crash when Activating RealNZtekapo Folder

Postby bernief » Thu May 28, 2015 9:56 pm

Hi Rob

Sorry to be a pain but I am having problems with RealNZtekapo. When I activate the folder in FSX Scenery Library and load a flight to anywhere, FSX crashes with a G3d.dll crash. This is the message I get from the Event Viewer.

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb14
Faulting module name: g3d.dll, version: 10.0.61637.0, time stamp: 0x46fadb58
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000122fa
Faulting process id: 0xe8c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d093a7f9282971
Faulting application path: Z:\FSX\fsx.exe
Faulting module path: Z:\FSX\g3d.dll
Report Id: 76e9f115-ff9b-11e4-8cb9-d050995ba5f1

So I did a Google search and it appears that the most common fix is to install FSUIPC. So I downloaded and installed the latest version of the programme. Still the same problem.

I just did a search on these forums for G3d.dll and found a post with the problem at Tekapo. See the link below.

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22967&hilit=g3d&start=20

See the 12th post on that page.

In the second last post on that page, you provided a link to the solution.

Quote "This sounds like the issue with 64bit systems, which crash when a previously-non-existent airfield is added.

There's a fix here, just add the stub and see if it helps."

However when I click on the link, I get the following message

The New Zealand Flightsim Forum has been migrated to another host. The new url is : http://nzff.org

Can you please shed some light on the problem.

Cheers

Sorry about that, I don't think that NZFF can host files anymore, so I'll change the link.
In the meantime,I think this is the file. Just take the bgl file out of the ZIP and put it in Scenery\World\Scenery.

Thanks Rob

That worked fine.

It's not that NZFF can't host files anymore.

The problem is that when the Administrators of the NZFF changed to the newer Forum style format, they did not consider all the URL Links made by members in the older Forum style posts.

If you now look at previous posts prior to the the newer Forum style, they have URL Links that are now all broken as a result of the Forum migration to a newer Host.

When you click on old posts URL Links you will now get The New Zealand Flightsim Forum has been migrated to another host. The new url is : http://nzff.org

As all URL links were broken with the upgrade and migration to the newer New Zealand Flightsim Forum format.

Welcome to NZFF , you will find the same with the historical Utube video , this forum now been tweaked again last week for the better .

The good thing is these lost and forgotten files/links and fix's will raise their heads above the water and will be easier to find so that will be a bonus.
