ok, so this problem is true for aircraft and wellington photoreal... so im asuming everything. when i used fsx on my comp with xp (different computer), it worked fine. i could edit cfg's and add aircraft. but now on this computer when i do anything like that, it says 'you do not have permission' or something similar. there has to be something i can do. anybody?

yes Vista stops editing in game files you can turn the security off or copy the file out change it then copy it back in as an administrator

how would i go about 'turning off' this so-called security then?

Copy the .cfg into your documents folder, edit it and copy and paste it back.

Note: This only happens in FSX (I think to stop novice users from stuffing up their game :lol: )

Or alternatively even easier...

Right click the file, click 'properties,' then the tab 'security.'

Select the user account that is yours; i.e. mine is (Users Matt\Users), and click the 'edit' button. Accept the security thing, and then select your name again from the pop-up window. Finally, check the box 'Full Control.'

This will allow you to access the file from its present location, without copying it backwards and forwards.

thing is I tried that but vista was still being annyoing and refused to let me edit.
oh well.

go to Control Panel/ user accounts/ turn user account control off
