Harbor Waterclass

I am running the freeware landclass package off the RBE and love the included waterclass files that come with it.

The only thing I dislike is the default blue colour of all the inland lakes and harbours (eg Tauranga Harbor, the Waitamata Harbour, Lake Rotorua, Lake Taupo)

Is there anyway these could be fixed up to be a deeper darker blue colour?

Hi Trolly

I have to admit I don't really love the default water colours in FS2004, but I'm too busy with other projects. You can always try to change the colours yourself using imagetool (which comes in the FS2004 SDK) and edit the water textures. Or maybe one of the existing water texture add-ons will fix the problem...

Cheers,
Christian

As I understand it, textures define the actual look, and landclass instructs what textures to use.

I think RBE can't be faulted for the landclass definition, but you may want to look at other sources for texture files.
Here's a sample of some of Peter Wilding textures as seen at Tauranga:

which looks pretty OK to me. You have to decide how much plankton you need, glacial melt etc etc.
And water is never the same, day on day ;)

Hi Charl.
Are those water textures freeware, and if so, where from ??
They sure look grand around Tauranga.

Payware. Either Ground Environment or Flight Environment.
I'm afraid I don't even know which is what on this FS installation, I'm just happy when it sometimes works
