Hi there Christian,
Since the other thread on the forum has no "add reply" scope I'll add my post here.I bought your 20m&topo from Geographx 3 weeks ago(my first payware addon ever!)I have only one regret-that I waited so long to buy it! It is worth every cent.It seems that you are busy making it FSX compatable-is this true? I know it is bound to be better than the FSX default at any rate. I for one will not buy FSX untill I can run the 20m&topo on it despite my eager anticipation of it. This was the main reason I waited to buy your product but got sick of waiting for FSX and bit the bullet and to hell with the consequences! I have been buying hardware as opposed to software for my sim so I know it will work with FSX.But since I've got your mesh and real Auckland and being very impressed I will support my fellow Kiwi's before Microsoft,so I will wait- no problem. What would be good is some sort of comment(however vauge) from you about this as I wonder how this matter is affecting your sales, and Robin Corns too.

Your question is a good one. Sometime soon I'll put an official statement into my FAQ section on my site...

Any of the following should be taken with caution and is partly speculation. At this stage MS hasn't got a complete build of FSX, so things may change. I'm just infering from what information MS has released so far.

In regards to the mesh, you should be safe, this should work with FSX.

The topo is a different ball game. There are a few significant changes. Firstly, Microsoft has changed ground texture resolution to 1m which affects this scenery. Secondly, MS is using NavTeq data which is a lot better than the default in FS2004. It is very possible that the new vector format (which basically is the topo) looks very different in FSX. From past history though, we can expect that the topo should be compatible with FSX. So, it should still work in FSX, but FSX may also bring changes that will mean that the current topo can be improved.

I'm currently scoping the ground for an all new topo. While this won't be a free upgrade as there will be a lot of work done (and lots of new great features), there will be a discount to user who bought the topo recently.

I hate to be that vague, but I hope it clarifies a few things.

Wow that response was quick,Thanks heaps,I knew "vauge" would be the answer which is why I invited one! Still a good answer nonetheless.I look foward to your new topo and will be happy to pay whatever it costs.Now that I'm getting very interested in sceneries myself I appreciate what it takes.In case no-ones told you(though surely they must have) you are truly a great man-you have done more for this country than anyone in history I can think of-Literally,tis a very strange fact indeed!
