Hi Christian..

I have downloaded the 75m Mesh and Landclass from your website... but it appears that I have 'cliff' faces where I should not have them.. like on the lake at Queenstown.

See this thread for an image:

Do you know what is causing this display problem?

Also, will purchasing your 20m and Topo fix this issue? Im keen to purchase them so I can fly in NZ in all of its glory.. but obviously dont want to if I cant resolve this problem.

I also have FSGlobal installed. I have removed that though to see if thats causing me problems and it made no difference. The only other thing I have installed is VOZ and I know that this shouldnt/isnt causing the problem.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

This is normal. The default lake elevations are faulty, and yes, this is fixed with the topo scenery.

as Robin wrote, the 75m mesh changes the elevation to much more real elevations. Unfortunately, MS fixed the lake height to a wrong elevation, that's why you get this effect (plus the shape of the lake is also wrong).

Absolutely! The topo will indroduce much more detailed lakes (basically every single lake in NZ mapped as in real life) and yes, this effect will be completely eliminated. If you have a look at my screenshot page: http://www.redbarent.com/nzmesh-screenshots.htm you can see how Queenstown looks like with 20m mesh + topo.

Thats good news Christian... you do a great job mate and you are a great ambassador NZ by doing this stuff..

My wife and I went to the south island last year. We both live in Sydney and have been to Europe quite a few times - but this was our first time to NZ. Fell in love with the place and we are kicking ourselves that we had never been before given how close and much cheaper it is then Europe..

Im heading off to purchase the 20mesh and topo right now. :)

All else I have installed is VOZ and FSGlobal.. dont know if they are causing any issues - or maybe those screenies are meant to look like that.. I have never been to Auckland myself..

Yes, that's correct. What you are looking at are artificial ponds (don't know their exact purpose though).

pic #2:

That tip is probably sandy beach. If you were to 'unvoz' you get a more appropriate sandy beach colour rather than the reddish outback sand.

Mangere's poo ponds, treating all of Auckalnd's, erm, poo !
Soon to become a wetland wildlife paradise, or a jetski wild life paradise, depending on which Real Estate Agency you subscribe to
