Hi Christian

I am having problem activating the 20 mesh. :( I can't find the FS.9.cfg file to activate the 20m mesh. I have looked everywhere - including the path it says in the manual on page 2. Can you help? This relates to the problem I brought up in Robin's section about floating camper vans at the Wanaka Show - Robin pointed out to me that it isn't activated properly.

Cheers

I had the same thing when I recently bought the 20m&topo and it just wouldn't install properly. The solution was to do a complete reinstall of FS altogether and start with a clean slate. Well needless to say it all went flawlessly. I now consider FS9 to be a 5 disc sim as standard and then add my other addons.
I found with the problem of a partial install of RBE I was chasing it or bits of it or other addons that had gone silly on me all over the place and by far the best and easiest was to start fresh.
I'm certainly not 'going above the boss' just saying what worked for me. Maybe Christian might like to comment on what I did. :P

It is all fixed - it is looking great - thanks. Need another flight across NZ and check out the mesh as it should.

Codge - yes I agree - I am virtually starting from scratch anyway as I only just got a new computer a month or so ago that could run 2004. yes some of my favourite scenery dosen't work anymore - but it is worth it.

Hi Codge,

If you have quite a few addons, especially older ones, a clean install can certainly clear up problems. The RBE scenery conforms to the MS SDK standard and doesn't do any funny business - it does install just fine on a FS2004 setup. However, with zillions of addons out there, it's impossible to catch any other funny business other addons are doing. In that case a virgin FS2004 install is certainly helpful.

Christian
