Onto some screenshots, which I have broken down into 3 sections, On the pad, Launch, Through the atmosphere and Space.
On The Pad
Cape Canaveral, pad 35A (?) As you can see most of the surrounding buildings are modeled, as is the assembly building in the distance. It looks like the author has based the whole thing on a photoreal background, thats very blurry but would appear to be something he will address.

I was impressed with his model, stands up well and is better than anything I have seen in FS9

While the gantry's etc are simple, they look the part and do the job. Both the astronaut walkway and top helium fill thingy swing away at the correct time during the launch sequence. During that time there are a number of task you must complete to continue with the launch, the panel is very extensive but the system he has employed to find your way around worked really well.

Launch
I really felt the anticipation here, listening to the comms with launch control and the countdown was heaps of fun, especially as the shuttle engine nozzles start to adjust and the initial launch ignition sequences begin..

Blast off is loud and he has used real sound recorded during a launch, I recommened turning your sound right up for this..

Begin mostly automated mission control keep talking with you advising what will happen and when

Through the atmosphere
The effects of moving through the atmosphere and seeing the stars start to appear was pretty cool.

Space

Given this is a beta 1.0 its pretty impressive, well worth a look and play around with.
The author has been working on this project for two years and its pretty spectacular for a one man effort from scratch. Reading through the site you can see he has had a few problems with sabotage of his efforts but he has not given up. A truely amazing accomplishment.
