Looking at A2A's Battle of Britain II and it seems it could help work off some of my tensions by shooting down other planes, or maybe make it worse by being shot down myself!

A2A BOB

Anyway, my question: Has anybody here purchased or used this program at all, and if so, what is your opinion of it? I see that it seems to be fairly old so that is one of the reasons why I have a little hesitation.

Thanks for any help you guys can give.

Cheers
Greg

I bought this a few years back from EB Games or the Warehouse, one of the "Big Bytes" re-released games in the red cases - it was $20 then from memory. Installed it and played once or twice. Never got into it but probably as I never really gave it a chance, I was really into IL2 at that time and BOB WOV seemed "sterile" for wont of a better word.

Your mileage may vary!

I spent a good number of months with this about 6 years ago playing a few hours a day.

Is very detailed, and its not a flight sim per say. You direct the battle and despatch squadrons to attack or intercept and if you wish you can then jump into the cockpit and fly that sortie. I was playing RAF and most of my intercepts didn't happen and my radar chain got hit badly as a consequence leaving me with less notice to scramble... which I guess is true to life.

It is a strategic game but can be played at the tactical level too.

If you can afford to spend a lot of time on it learning the mechanics I would recommend it, but if you want a shoot-em up go for something like CFS 3.

Thanks chaps, it seems that maybe CS3 would be better for me and my mate to try...
