Animated figures in FSX

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

There has been a bit of talk lately in the FSX section about the possibilityof animated figures when then new FS11/FSE comes out (2010???). I have already got used to the 'nodding pilots' in FSX which come as part of the Aerosoft Twin Otter but yesterday I was very surprised to see animated figures when I was flying in some Aerosoft scenery. Although not NZ, this scenery is great to fly around, and has things like moving windsocks and lots of flying birds. Anyway, did a flight into Duene airport (Helgoland) and outside the terminal (by the blue sun unbrellas) there is a man using a mobile phone. Had to look a few times when I saw him moving, but moving he definitely is. Then parked the Otter near the static BN Islander and saw another animated figure. This guy appears to give a Hitler salute, must look at it again but he is certainly animated. It will be very interesting if he is actually giving a Hitler salute, given that this scenery is from Germany!!!

So there are animated figures already in FSX. I hope that more developers make use of this, and perhaps include animated passengers in aircraft as well.

Smooth landings.

There are a few 3D folk supplied with the MS missions, and the guy on the cellphone sounds like one of those -- here he is in my Tekapo Wedding mission:

The cast here are:
The vicar, played by the Bodyguard;
The best man played by the Japanese Businessman;
The bridesmaid played by the Russian Villianess.
The bride is played by herself, actually this is my own model.

Mmmm had a look at one of the ORBX airfields and they use animated figures.
There's that guy with the phone standing in front of the girl, making random arm up and down movements... ohmy.gif she turns this way and that...another one at the gas pump waves at you, and again, and again, and again...
New toys have to be used with great discretion.

yea I think it maybe a wave maybe?

Had to laugh at the plaque in your Twin Otter - no aerobatics & spins! Loop and roll a Twin Otter!
