Running FSX as administrator

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

I am running Vista on my laptop. FSX runs very sluggish on start up and the menu screen. For some reason I decided to open the program using the 'Run as Administrator' option. Was a lot quicker and I even noticed the quality of the inflight graphics was a bit better than the norm.

I'm wondering if running it normally disables some of the add ons or prevents them from running properly.

Anybody know?

I dunno....I turned off that STUPID User access restriction within 5 minutes of installing Vista so everything runs as admin

I can understand your frustration. Having worked on Macs for 15 years and then buying a PC laptop for personal use, I just couldn't believe how unreliable PCs are compared to the Mac platform. Have had heaps of small issues with mine.
