For those who haven't visited my site lately:
a) why not?
b) I've begun a series of trips down the length of New Zealand to give an idea of what you could expect from FSX. This is designed to bypass the negative hype which is rampant in the overseas forums at the moment.
However, because my system is considered low-specced for FSX, you need to take this into account. For instance, I can't get good performance at any large airport. I can't even get Auckland to display properly for a simple screenshot. So if your system is similar to -- or less than -- mine, then don't expect miracles from FSX.
I am learning to love it, though!
Oops, nearly forgot. My specs:
Athlon XP2600
Nvidia FX5900 128MB
1 GB RAM
-Robin, Godzone Virtual Flight

You could always 'loan' your copy of FSX to someone[1] with a grunty machine (say a Core2Duo E6400, 4Gigs RAM, PCIe 256Meg 7600GT vid card) and get them to test it...

In fact, you could get them to 'test' ALL your scenery's too

cheers,
HCP

[1] As luck would have it, I happen to have a machine that matches these specs :D

Only trouble is, I don't really want to KNOW how it perfroms on something like that, as it'll be a long time before I can match it.

why don't you loan your computer to me, HCP: i'll test how fast it goes with the FSX demo, then the deluxe version when it arrives. B)
