Hi there,

In the ongoing battle with my strange ashphalt textures, I thought I'd repair the fsx installation as a last ditch measure. I repaired it, and went to start fsx up, but within 15-20 seconds of it starting up I get the "fatal error has occured" message.

Any thoughts on how to avoid this? unsure.gif

One thing I did do before it started playing up is update my AMD Graphics card drivers after I got a message from the AMD software updater thing. I wonder if this is causing it? unsure.gif It's damn frustrating because I can't fly or do anything. angry.gif

Can you not simply uninstall the REX addon .

That's the frustrating thing. That's all it tells me, "Microsoft Flight Simulator has encountered a fatal error and needs to close. Sorry for the inconvenience."

Obviously your not sorry enough or you would of developed a 3rd Service Pack for FSX to fix the darn issues in the first place. rolleyes.gif

Anyway, that is a standard Windows 7-FSX error message. I've gone for broke and I'm re-installing FSX and all my addons, seeing I haven't done it in well over a year. Re-installation is the death of FS I tell you. biggrin.gif

As noob to FSX I would look at that a little harder. Especially if you forced any settings with your Card into FSX. If you updated your drivers I would say its reverted to FSX settings.

Yeah, I tried that, and the FSX Cfg and the untanimicore.dll or what ever its called. biggrin.gif Didn't have any luck with any of them. But the re-installation proccess is nearly complete, I am downloading the service packs now.
