Some of em look nice, however I don't like the washed-out effect of the photoreal in the first shot.

Looks like that might be low cloud or visibility set to 10km or lower, some are quite vivid color wise hense what I'm saying. Could be wrong, have to test and see.

The colours are if anything over-saturated so it's best to get vis down a bit for best realism.
Ian your shots show the autogen much better than my higher altitude ones with the HS 748, that is good scenery.
Glad to see there's a future with FSX too!

Hey there Ian, checked both Avsim and Flitsim and they only show the version for fs9, from April of last year. Ga day mate

My understanding is that Ian was showing the FS9 version, thats the only one available at this stage and works ok in X.

Hi ya Don , Jon nailed it there, the airport lost the ground texture in X but works ok in 9, and due to requests it'll will be remodel'd later with scenery adjust to remove cars and static a/c . Since Jon and Nik made did a Fantastic job off photoing all off NZDN , that will become 1st scenery to suit that photo real release , have a few textures started , install all on new pc at mo and that is a mission in its self . :)

Thanks for the info Ian. Good luck with the new PC. Always fun starting fresh, everything is fast and easy to find, and then the clutter starts. I always say to myself, not this time, neat and orderly, only a few "necessary" programs installed. Never happens! I will try the scenery in FSX, I have it running pretty well with very usuable frame rates, I am liking it alot. See ya old man. Don

Thanks for the screen shots Ian, I was wondering how well my NZNV City scenery would port into FSX and I am very happy with the results.

During the development of the scenery I was frustrated by the limits imposed on autogen. That was 300 houses and 600 trees per tile. The reduction in the quality of the ground image due to re-sampling the original down significantly to fit FS9 meant that you had to fly high above the ground to get a credible photo-real experience.

I'm keen to upgrade this scenery for FSX and addressing the low autogen and image quality issues.

I will have to acquire FSX first and then research what scenery development tools are available for FSX. I will make this my next project. I'm currently pursuing my PPL with the Canterbury Aero Club and will be sitting my flight test in a couple of weeks - weather permitting.

BTW - Is anyone considering developing a NZCH for FSX? If so, I would be happy to help. I use Robin's Godzone version at the moment but he doesn't appear to have any immediate plans to add this to his Real NZ project. :(

Well, this is my 1st post on NZFF - sorry I took so long.

Good to have you look in Murray!
I was just singing your praises the other day

Well actually Ian helped me sing your praises, more correctly.
Fantastic job, and can't wait for your next project.
Difficult choices though; given FSX is a little hungry for bytes what d'you do? Go for the max possible and hope it takes forever to finish the project so the computers catch up? Hmm
