Thanks for the update. I was just at his site the other day and wondered when we would hear from him. Fsx is getting better all the time. The more people get involved, the better it will be. Can't rely just on aces to get the job done, just as with all the previous versions, it is the individuls that keep working to find the tweaks and answers that help to make this a community effort.

Sweet :) I'm not really surprised that DX10 isn't in there, a serious amount of recoding would be required I reckon, and I'd rather have the patch NOW NOW NOW!

If you think trainsims are boring look at www.trainzone.co.nz for the most outstanding NZ trainsim scenery designed for Trainz06 - absolutely wonderful and has a built in helicopter mode!

I wonder what the performance is on train sims

well, consider that if you were to directly port the FSX engine into a train sim game, the experience would be pretty poor- after all, you're usually flying VFR 3000ft off the ground, tiny details don't matter. whereas in a train sim, you're travelling at 0ft AGL, so you need massive detail, rendering not only everything in the sky (clouds, hills etc) but everything on the ground (especially at short distances)

so performance wise, i'm thinking taxiing at heathrow at peak time with detail on ultra high (this is all based on what i've read, i've personally never used a real train sim- only this arcade style one)

Interesting, the place they are modeling is called 'Murchison County' , that must be a great place to live, eh? :P B)

I think, that if they can link their train sim with FS somehow, that'd be way cool. You could take the train to the airport, then fly to some exotic destination, catch another train... I've been following a railway line for the last 500 or so miles on my tour, but not seen a single train on it. Can't even find a train AI slider to max out....

yea I would rather fly aswell becuase trains all you really do is follow a track and look at the scenery
