Although auto gen is "auto" generated I don't think it cahnges.. Just look at some photoreal scenerys were tress are placed right were the tress are in the photo, yet those objects are controlled by the "autogen" slider so the objects remain in the same place

The reason why they dont appear to move is because their bounding boxes are very small...i.e. if you draw a vegetation region around a single tree, it has to place it within that small region. Because the region is very small, it doesnt appear to move.
