Am disapointed with the performance of 3rd party aircraft with SP1. Wilco 777 and Just Flight VLJ are particularly bad. The 777 improved slightly with the installation of the Visual C update but the VLJ is just hopeless. Deane's Fletcher though is great as are all the default aircraft.
Is anyone having similar problems and should we expect updates for these 3rd party aircraft??

What excatly do you mean is wrong? Not fuctioning properly orhas the fps droped? If so how much?
If its caused a decress in enjoyment of such aircraft then just go back to the unpatched untill a new version of the aircraft are released...

I mean a drop in frame rate. The Just Flight VLJ FPS drops by half and the 777 stays about the same and does not enjoy the improvements of the default aircraft.
I have emailed Just Flight support to see if they have any comments.

hmmm, that's a bit of a concern. Jon posted a link in the other thread to the full reinstallation guide for SP1, you might have to try that

As an FSX purist I have avoided third party add-ons unless they are FSX specific, the Airshow was the exception to this, so I havnt had problems.
I installed SP1 directly, got a big jump in performance, but am thinking I will do a clean install and include the runtime files as well. Then I can test the PMDG 1900 and 747 aircraft, as well as the level D 767 and captain sim C130/757 and carenado birds. Will let u know how I get on.

A problem I have come across is that Abacus scenery editor no longer appears in the menu in FS

Yeah, a few teething probs by the look. I think the rewrite of the code was more extensive than first thought, we could see a number of applications etc in catch-up mode me thinks. Having said that, with the performance gains I'm seeing, they will have to run pretty fast to ctach up

Only flown the JF Seneca and freeware C130H so far, but no problems as yet. The first thing I noticed though is the strobes now work properly - before I just had great big flashing rectangles. Oh and the landing lights now work too.

I tested the LDS 767-300, I just copied all the files across into the right folders for fsx, such as effects guages modules etc.. but I got a panel fail to load message when selecting the aircraft and fs closed..
mm maby a fsx release of the 763 one day

Some experimenting today indicates that the Garmin glass cockpit and probably aircraft with a fmc do not benefit from the SP1. There is little improivement with the default aircraft fitted with the Garmin glass VC, though all are fine in 2d. The Just Flight VLJ that I refer to has a rather complex glass VC.
Am not much fussed anymore as I do not really like the glass VCs.
