Hi all. The latest news from MS is that FS X will be available for the XBox 360 as well. This would probably introduce more people to the hobby who, once addicted would become hopelessly hardcore like us ;) but for me it's PC all the way. Bring on DX 10 :P

got a link?

i don't think xbox's have joysticks. and you can't replace the keys on the keyboard, so its going to be pretty limited.
my guess is that it'll be all about the arcade style missions, rather than tuning the NAV radios and the like

It's in the forum under General Discussion
I was thinking the same thing. It might be something like FSX's "Greatest Hits", where they lump all the missions together for the 360 and you work your way from novice to airline pilot after succesfully completing each mission. Just a thought.

I would say it is purely to grab people and then they will learn they really need a brand new grunty desktop PC to do it properly.
Well thought out by M$, they are expert marketers and that's how they out sell Mac's even tho the Mac is a better product. Mind you PC's are way cheaper than Mac's but mass production allows that. I suppose the PC is for the masses and Mac's are for the discerning! I have and always will have a PC by the way simply because of MS Flight Simulator!
It makes pefect sence that since MS makes software and the Xbox and not PC's themselves anymore that they would to what they are doing.
I believe there is more than one New Zealander with a very well paying job at Microsoft. (Just an afterthought, nothing meant by that at all!)

I wouldn't take this too seriously -- it was meant as a joke.
I'm a big supporter of FS for Xbox, though, and I wouldn't be surprised if it did appear quite soon. First, though, we'll see the release of a Windows 'Live' system based on Xbox Live, which will allow more transparent online multiplayer, and seamless purchase/installation of addons.
I don't think the lack of a keyboard for the Xbox would be an issue -- this would be an ideal time for MS to release an Xbox/PC compatible FS 'controller' which is just a cut-down keyboard.
A normal PC keyboard is certainly not the ideal game controller, it hasn't really changed that much since the invention of the typewriter.

Andy Herd from Flightsim.com has done a review of the released version of FSX.
It is reasuring for me that I will be sticking with FS9 for a while yet.
He talks of having to have all the sliders to the left and he has a way better rig than me!
Sorry for not providing a link but check it out,tis time well spent I reckon. <_<
