Couldn't resist a little carrier work, pretty rusty but after a few wave-offs starting making the 3-wire traps.

This is a benchmark model for FSX, that will long be remembered.
Dino Cattaneo as you know produced an amazing Tomcat for FS9.
For this one he's extended his considerable skills.
A quick moving screenshot, look at the light on the tailplane:

Because of the massive amount of work involved, it may also be his last freeware model.
This from his blog:
Grumman F-14 Tomcat: I've not yet decided which version, probably F-14D Supertomcat.
I am rebuilding it from scratch (it will NOT be a port of the FS2004 version).
I already did some work last year, and it is not bad, so there is a good chance that the external model will be ready in a month or so.
If there will be a market opportunity, this may be my first payware release.
I am sorry to ask money for what is basically a hobby, but the development efforts required to make a good FSX plane is huge.

Sorry for being a bit off topic, but where are the carriers in FSX?

Only moving carriers are in Acceleration I believe, so you do an Acc mission and change a/c
Statics are all over - San Francisco has one if I recall

It certainly looks one of the better freeware FSX aircraft - what the VC like?

It would make an interesting comparison to the Skysim payware Hawk - which incidentially just won a Gold Star award on Avsim

Not too shabby - Dino has updated the functionality, too. No 2D...just a HUD which suits me fine.
