Well after trying so many Payware and freeware addons to try and get NZ looking a bit more like it should I decided to see if I could green it up a little?
Still lots to do but here are a few Screenshots. All screenshots are just North of Queenstown Airport.
SPRING

SUMMER

FALL

WINTER

This looks promising , there was a previous attempt using the older low res , guess from 2004 .

Hi Ian, Yes I tried several older attempts but non suited my needs at all.
These are 1024 x 1024 textures designed just for FSX only.
I only do design for the fun of it these days so who knows if I will ever get it finished :-)
Cheers

Looking good Ian. I've started my own set a while ago, basically just recolouring the default FSX set, but NZ does look great green!

Good stuff bluebird- these look very similar to the quality of the Orbx custom landclass textures for Australia.
Do you plan to release these publicly?

Thanks Christian, I tried so many Payware & Freeware addons to make NZ look green but never any real luck as yet.
Trolly... No sorry it will not be released as I have WWW textures (Simmarket) installed so I am using a mix of Default textures and WWW textures. So I have no idea who's textures I am really using. I have also created some of my own textures from Google & Sreenshots others have sent me.
You could try much the same method as I have used... it's simple to do.
1. Create a folder in your "addon scenery" and call it "nz-custom" . Then create a "scenery & texture" folder.
2. Find a good Landclass File for NZ and place that in your scenery folder.... Christian & I both made them for Fs2004 from memory.
3. Search your textures for some good ground textures and place those into your new texture folder.
4. Activate your new scenery.
It sounds like a lot of work but it only took me maybe 2 hours at the most.
I should add that what I have done only looks good in Spring and Summer the other seasons don't look good at all.
Cheers
Ian
