Here are some pointers for a repaint photoshoot:
1. Try for a bright overcast day so you don't get sun highlights. Or just wait for a cloud, and make sure you have spot exposure on the A/C.
2. Shoot square side on, from quite a distance; say whatever fills the frame on max optical (not digital) zoom so you don't get distortion.
3. You want to see what's on the side of the A/C so slightly downward for a low wing (if you can stand on something):

and from below for the high-wingers:

If there are special markings, try to get up close to get detail:

Shoot the picture at max camera resolution for archive, usually though 1MB suffices for the repaint template.

I've made contact with North Shore Aero Club, so I'm off on the next good day for my crop B)

Of course all you spotters could help out too, next time you find yourself at your favourite aerodrome!
If you need a list, take a copy of the "Bare Metal" pinned topic, that's what we need pics for. Thanks!

This is the official Invitation to Post Your Photos topic:
Here's your chance to get your best GA pic immortalised in a GNZLAP repaint!
Think of that, it'll fly around NZ and be seen everywhere!

If you (and this means EVERYBODY ) have any NZ GA photos please post them here.
The biggest problem the project faces is photo resources, it takes hours of trawling to find decent shots on the internet.
This is a group effort which really could be helped by anyone in the NZFF.
So have a rummage in your photobox!

But I have decided to upload a few more that help the GNZLAP (sorry if they dont comply with the rules above)

12 pics, 1.38mb:

Good fellow, Trolly!
That'll keep the painters quiet for a bit.
And thanks for the link, I'd forgotten you had posted NZAR planes previously.
Anyone ever visit Palmerston North?

Andrew many thanks for the photos, they are about 80% new ones and are invaluable.
Stored safely in the archive 'til release - who knows where this will ever end?
BTW I think ZK-PTO is a spoof picture, but a good idea ;)

I popped down to Ardy this morning, hoping to get a photo of the newly painted DC-3 that arrived yesterday, but unfortunately, it had already departed to Kerikeri on a charter flight by the time I arrived... :(

Anyhow, I still managed to get a few shots outside Dennis Thompson's place, might help for the GNZLAP painters:

It would be real neat to see the PEA VAVA'U jetstream in GNZLAP!

And also, I took a pic of the big billboard which lists all the parking spots for ya:

Alas Jetsreams fall just outside our MTOW limit, perhaps VOZ would come to the party?

Try saving this one to your computer, then zooming in on it with your mouse scroll button.

NOW I can read it...sorta wish you hadn't come up with the goods, it places a bit of an onus on someone to come up with the definitive NZAR AFCAD - any takers out there?
Real NZ compatible
With or without Auckland 2005 airports
Without mesh
With freeware mesh
With 20m mesh
With topo and any combination of above

It's a dangerous business, but if you feel you're up to it and can take the heat:
Goodonya Craig, I'll take one thanks!

Any detail shots of logos for SKT?
Fletchers await Deane's pleasure
TGI: What's behind the strut?
And that last shot...get real, I can't even tell what kind of aircraft it is! l

Scroll to the top of this topic for photo requirements, makes painters' job so much easier (even, possible!)
