The Yaks

The official Forum for the GNZLAP and Charl's other NZ AI addons

Miloslav Wolf has painted up no less than 10 Kiwi Yaks, at my request.
Let me rephrase that: I wondered in passing if he could do a few, and then he flooded the whole downloads page at AVSIM with these.
Great stuff Milo.
This being a fully-interactive forum, I wondered which of these I should use for my first 4+2 AI formation, in an upcoming WOW package.
I realise there may not be more than 3 responses to this poll, but hey...at least then I didn't dump those four.
(Actually they aren't dumped, they will find use elsewhere, but the top 6 will be the stars of the show.)

Awesome - I saw those on Avsim and was going to ask you whether you could do your AI magic on them!

Maybe you could use the actual Yaks in the Yak team (maybe the Classic Fighters 2005 & Wanaka 2004 team could be done) - the regos of the team are listed here - although I note ZK-YAK is missing from above.

Good link and I should've thought of it.
Just so happens I have a reasonable facsimile of -YAK right here:

Finally, someone thinks of the Yaks!

How are you going with those yaks anyway Charl any progress?
it would just be interesting to find out more about the whole 'yak pak' :)
Cheers
Nick
P.S make sure you have a steady flow of Yaks going to Omaka its a little dreary at the Moment!!!

Yaks are assembled, and slowly the package comes together.
Robin has very kindly fixed the taxiway, I'm hoping for a gate in the fence to let the masses out on the runway now...
And yes, Omaka is the only place left for them to fly to!
'Course instead of doing AI I have been painting.
Like everyone else "doing" stuff in FS, I very often get sidetracked by interesting "other" stuff.

This is awesome glad to see you have our one there (JPW!) The ones that are missing, are:
ZK-YAQ
ZK-YKA
ZK-PNN

That screenshot of YAK looks great, my mate that flies it will be stoked, so will her old man who owns it!

A question, WHERE can I get this model for FS2004?

Just a quick one, may be helpful. The team comprises of ZK-YAQ, ZK-YAK, ZK-ZAY (John has re-done it in a gunmetal finish), ZK-PTE, that is the New Plymouth contingent. These guys fly together all the time, of the Auckland based machines, ZK-KGB, ZK-TYS, ZK-YNZ (occasionally) make up the rest of the team. ZK-YAC is for sale, Kevin has bought a Yak 52 TW. Our JPW and YRA are based in Canterbury. YRA hardly ever flies, but we always get our machine out and about. Here are a few pics.

The air to air pics were taken by Alex Mitchell, really stoked how they turned out, he did a great job. Hopefully we'll be able to get some more radial formations together in the very near future ay Gavin!

cheers,

Nice pics...so I need to paint up -YAQ for the team as Milo didn't.
Bear in mind these are primarily for AI use, so won't be all that good as flyables (No panel etc)
But if you'd like to try one, drop me a PM.

Any nice side-on pics of YAQ out there?

Nice to see you, Mr Love! Have you joined the FS revolution as well? biggrin.gif Adam keeps asking me about ZK-JAG but I think more capable hands are working on it.

BTW nice to see the project moving ahead Charl!
