Ron Watson's Manukau City

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

I tried Ron's city buildings in 'Supercity: Auckland FSX', and they look great. Ron has now packaged these up into one download on Flightsim.com, and they are pretty much ready to drop into 'Supercity' once it gets released.

Here's Manukau City looking towards NZAA:

excuse my ignorance, who is 'Ron'? Does he frequent these boards?

That is looking really good and it is nice to have other people developing scenery!

He actually built these models some time ago -- 2006, from memory. They were designed for FS2004, but work well in FSX. They were originally released individually, but he's now packaged them up into one download to make things easy.
My understanding is that this was his neighbourhood, and he wanted to see it in FS. A lot of people have plans to do this, but not many actually do the work -- imagine NZ in FS if a lot more people added a bit of detail to their home town...

Ron is a personal friend of mine through the Auckland Aero Club, he is a pilot in the R/W. He is very good with 3D design (Gmax and the like), he is also working on an aircraft project for FS9/FSX. But I will wait for him to plug that some more.

Aside from the Manukau Structures, Ron Watson has also done a number of aircraft paints for both FS9 and FSX, and also did a few sceneries for some of the Hydro Dams in the South Island of NZ.
All the Manukau Structures ( original separate downloads) for FS9, and also the Hydro Dams for FS9 are available from the FS2004 Scenery section on my website.
You will find his aircraft paints on Flightsim.com .
