Rob - as a matter of interest ... is this THE control tower for NZWN? Looks a bit on the "modest" side winkyy.gif

"Tower View" takes me to an innocuous area to the west of the runway - in the middle of nowhere, really. I had a quick look on Google Earth, but couldn't see anything that looked like a control tower either (not that you can tell, from directly above).

Having never been to tha airport at NZWN ... I just don't know.

Nope, that's not Wellie's ATC Tower,............
This is the tower..............

This is, of course, in the FS9 version of RealNZ Wellington.

Lawrie,

I don't believe that you included the rails in your scenery. I've landed there several times now and now I miss them knowing that they should be there.

You are correct Jim,............... the old Runway-12 scenery i did of Gisborne years ago does not have the railway in the scenery,................
BUT,............ the new scenery i am currently working on DOES have the railway !!

My thanks to Snowman and all others that responded so quickly (you guys are *fast*!). I can see that the postie may find the tower OK, but a noob Auster pilot like me may have a little difficulty!

How anyone can see anything out of that tower, I just don't know!! Looking at those pics, it reminds me just how ugly (and largely inappropriate for NZ) autogen buildings are ... UGH!!!

I had thought about a static train in the scenery,......... but no, there wont be an animated train, requiring a schedule, so you dont end up on the 6pm TV news...

The NZWN is on the side of a hill (much more clearer in Real life) and it has a fantastic view of the airport I believe.

Sounds good as all your sceneries are.
But right now I've developed a problem at Gisborne which I didn't have before. If I attempt to cross onto a hardsurface, tarmack or a taxiway, the sim crashes to a black screen with the message that FS has a problem and must close down. Reinstalled the scenery, etc. but still crashes. Doesn't happen at other airports. As I mentioned, I did a restore, uninstalled the scenery and reinstalled. No cure. Any ideas or should I not visit NZGS until your new scenery is ready?

Thanks,
Jim D.

You can see the tower in this photo here. The screenshot of the tower shows how oversized the autogen is, I don't like autogen for that reason. The tower stands about 4 or 5 floors high, and as mentioned is on the top of a hill.

Yeah plus there are severe height restrictions on the surrounding houses. No more that one story I believe. I've been up there twice. Perfect views. If I get another chance, I'll take a photo.

Isn't it evident?? Boeing are my favourite aircraft.

P.S. that's is my real birthday but I wish to keep my real age secret to keep you all pondering.
