NZHA Hawera -Testers required

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Hi Deane

Yes I have been trying my end with disabling what you have suggested but no luck. I even disabled Realnz Mt Taranaki - thought that solved it but the stuttering started again after a while.

In short - you can't run two sceneries within the same area together - its one or the other. I don't know what Taranaki scenery you are running??

Deane - thanks for the explanations(s). Tricky business all this isn't it? I'll dig out my archive for Taranaki - I've totally forgotten where it came from!

Hallo,
I never saw Hawera in reality (maybe next NZL-visit?), so I can´t compare the scenery. After deactivating the files in NZ Taranaki I found this step and some (default) buildings in the town - no idea, where they come from. Beside this (I can live with it) everything works fine for me. Well done!

Tested Hawera last night
Seemed pretty much perfect
No flattens, spikes, elevation issues or wierd autogen etc. Got a solid 30fps locked (min observed 23fps) everwhere within a 10 mile radius
with all scenery settings maxed out except water @ 2X low. No sign of problems others have had other than a small stutter when doing a short test with 20fps locked which reduced and pretty much disappeared when I increased locked fps back to 30 which is my standard setup fps (This is perfectly acceptable to me and pretty normal).
Great work. Autogen as good as anything Ive seen.
Nice touch with the animation and environment sound.
System setup for test - i7 930 @ 3.15ghz ,4 gig ram,HD 5850 1 gig. VLC, SP2 Accel ,flying the Corban babyace and microlite.

Thanks for feedback. The only animation I know of is the guy standing at the fence by model club waving. But I don't know of any environment sounds? What are you hearing?

Hi Deaneb
Ah I thought it was yours.I think I must have a Sound Env. prog. installed not sure what it is though.Ive installed so much stuff its hard to keep up with,Doh!
I thought I could hear a Fantail as well as the sound of a workshop.Come to think of it Ive heard the same sounds at other APs outside NZ so must be an AP sound env. prog. Ive got installed.Highly recommended though if I can find out what it is.lol.
Anyway great scenery that I will visit often
Kudos

PS Update-Sounds were from Orbxs BOB

Well the stuttering issue is still a mystery. Doug and I have tried a myriad of things and seem to have narrowed it down to something on the actual airfield. We did this by taking out all my custom made 3d models (They are contained in NZHA_Objects_VLC.bgl and NZHA_Aerodrome_VLC.bgl) and then other BGL's one at a time. That left only VLC and FSX library objects placed around the airfield (these objects are called by NZHA_ADEX_VLC.BGL). Within that file I decided to eliminate the two guys and the little model cub, as I felt maybe the scaling of the FSX library cub might be throwing a spanner in the works, but still no fix for Doug. So I'm no further ahead in whats causing the issue.
I'm away for the next two weeks, so sorry to say, I won't have an answer soon. Meanwhile it seems to be working fine fo a lot of users.

Hi Deane

Was NZHA uploaded anywhere as the filefactory link is dead?

Cheers

Paul

BTW..I reckon my stuttering is caused by something else in Taranaki as I've experienced it elsewhere in the Naki and NZHA wasn't even in sight.

I need a few people to test the Hawera scenery on different set ups. Only 2 MB download, no install instructions. This is designed to be used in conjunction with VLC, but if any non VLC users want to give it a try - go for it!!

Download here

Thanks Deane

Deane , Im too late! any chance i can grab some NZHA scenery, its no longer on the file factory link.

Cheers

I'll try and rustle something up. I have not touched the scenery for a while, so nothing has changed.
