Yes, I'm amazed at the shot of what I guess is Calabar Rd, with the cars parked on the angled driveways:)
Seems like we are a couple of days away from release...

I wonder if they realise it may be out of date if NZCA confirm the extension? Oh well I just use FSX anyway.

I guess that most airports are out of date soon after release, some even before:)
If developers waited for an airport to be 'finished' before modelling it, we wouldn't see a lot of completed scenery.
Here's my impression of the average airport:

Hmm, while we are at it. What are the chances to fly NZWN-NZCH in the very near future? :)

Preview video of NZWN:

I think I saw P3DV3 and V4 on the product page. That was a relief as I'm (stuck) on V3.

You'd need to define 'very near future'. By most definitions, the answer is 'yes'.

Just a shout-out to one of our own, who gets a few mentions in the NZWN manual for his contributions -- Jack Cheng. It was Jack who first got Mir interested in NZAA, with his own preview shots which he posted here, and without his keen promotion of NZ to Mir, we wouldn't have seen NZWN.
Here's the original NZAA post which started it all.
….and Jack was also responsible for the NZCH tower here.

Hi Robin

Thanks for the shout out... I'm honoured and embarrassed at the same time...

Now the cat is out of the bag I guess I can finally reveal it. Yes I was the crazy person who pitched NZAA to Orbx, FlyTampa and Flightbeam some 3 years ago (can't believe it's been that long!!!). Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that it would actually get picked up by a developer of Mir's calibre. Although for various reasons NZAA has not been made (yet), we are very lucky to be blessed with NZWN first as as a happy "coincidence". Personally I think it's as good as it can get within the current P3D limitation. I hope the locals would really get behind it and enjoy.

Having said all that I think you Mr Robin deserve the most credit. It is your devotion to virtual Aotearoa that inspired me in the first place so none of this would have happened without your pioneering. I also want to thank D'Andre of former DailyX for not laughing off my lofty ambition (of building an NZAA scenery). He was the one who told me to keep at it after he saw my Christchurch control tower. Of course thanks to Mir for not dismissing me as a spoiled brat who screams for his local airport to be built.

Anyway I'm just very relieved that I can speak openly about my involvement in NZAA here from now on. I (and Flightbeam) will certainly need a lot more help with Auckland as it would be 2-3 times more work than NZWN.

Can't wait to get cracking.

Ouch really... VAT is for customers residing in the EU. There's talks of IRD requiring overseas e-vendors to start charging GST but I thought that is not coming in until this Oct. Perhaps talk to them and see if you could get the GST refunded (please don't tell Flightbeam I told you this)

Yeah, I wondered about that - seemed a bit premature... I will hit them up and see what the deal is.

Flightbeam NZWN — $39.11 NZD Plus 15% $5.87 GST = $44.98 NZD

Yep - the maths adds up - only it's labelled as VAT and I'm pretty sure it wasn't on the price summary details during purchase. I don't really mind. As a born and bred Wellingtonian I'm simply super happy to have a high quality hometown airport at long last!

Sigh... (from the nothing is ever easy files)

NZWN crashes P3DV3 when I try to load in. I loaded into NZAA and NZPP successfully without incident.

I've double checked the Orbx NZNI / FlightBeam troubleshooting stuff to check all the conflicting files are turned off and they are.

Annoyingly I'm also getting frequent full screen flickers. Not having run P3D for a while I'm wondering if this is a graphics card driver problem.

Two problems to debug.

Edit1: Flicker solved by enabling vsync (known Nvidia / P3D driver / Win 10 issue). Flying within 5 miles of NZWN causes a CTD.

I'm really sorry to hear that CTDs are preventing you from enjoying the scenery.

I'll double check if any of the Beta team members runs v3 but certainly everything runs without problem in v4 as far as I'm aware.

I know it's going to sound incredibly stupid but do you mind disable the whole Orbx NZNI (not just the conflict files) and give it a go?

I've just posted details in the Flightbeam forum:

http://flightbeam.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=3274

Ok, disabled the NZNI scenery (not hard!) and after P3D rebuilt the indexes I switched to NZWN. It crashed at 0% loading.
