On the Christchurch Airport website they have a virtual tour of the new airport. I'm guessing it's in 3D, wonder how much it would cost to buy those modelds?

That's certainly an option for someone who wants to have a 'future' version of the airport. As I said, my scenery should allow for easy removal of the existing terminal. Then once the terminal is completed, you could replace your 'preview' model with the photoreal model. If anyone was interested in doing this, let me know. However I wouldn't recommend starting from the existing 3D model which the airport commissioned -- the work involved in optimising it for FSX would be 10 times more than building the model from scratch.

Is NZCH the airport only? What is the best option for FSX scenery for CHC?

Thanks and get well

Thanks, Tony.
At the moment this is the airport only, I've had real trouble sourcing an aerial image for Christchurch. I've gone all the way to the top -- the mayor -- but without any result. There is black and white images available, and in the past I've colourised the Christchurch image, but this doesn't really work for FSX, which requires much more colour fidelity and detail.
The NZScenery version apparently works in FSX, according to their site.

Robin in the install CHCH scenery it states

"Due to space limitations on the server, I have now removed the FAT32 files from the web pages and download sections..
If you wish to run this scenery you now HAVE to have an NTFS partition to install them into"

whats this mean can i just download and install CHCH scenery?

Good question. This is the filing system your hard drive partition uses -- I think they used to have two versions of Christchurch because FAT32 was more common, but only NTFS could address the huge number of files involved. If you don't know how your drives are organised, then you could just download it and try. If the install doesn't work then you probably have FAT32.
You can check the filing system -- go to Computer on Vista, or My Computer on XP, right click the drive where your FS is installed, and choose Properties. The File System will be listed under the General tab.
By the way, I'm just going by what is on their website -- I have nothing to do with this scenery, I've never ever installed it.

The scenery works pretty good in FSX although I found extremely poor frame rates and stuttering when flying in the vicinity of the smaller strips, Forest Field, West Melton, even Rangiora. I deleted the BGL's for these
airports which were conveniently named in the scenery folder and now the scenery runs very well. I recommend it to give the region some more character!
