Having just upgraded to a pc that can run sceneries properly, and having reloaded FS9 and now populating it with Lawries wonderful airports, where can I locate the main scenery.cfg to slot in the exclusions/flattens etc such as for New Plymouth????

Using Windows explorer (assuming you're using default path)
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 and in here you'll see all the folders eg Addon Scenery, Gauges, Aircraft, Autogen etc
But outside these folders you'll also see some other files which should be in alphabetical order. Scenery.cfg should be one of them.
Open it using notepad and away you go.
Hope I've explained that clearly?

Thanks Bandit, thats what i thought, yet my scenery.cfg only goes up to Area 38, I've installed and activated, and flown into a number of Lawrie's airport scenerys amongst others I've installed, yet it doesn't seem to update to show the additional sceneries I've placed in Addon Sceneries......
Anyone any thoughts????

The couple of times I've had this happen I fixed it by doing the following -
- Add the Scenery in the normal way to the Scenery library.
- Restart the sim
- Go for a flight at the area/airport concerned
- End the flight and close down the sim
- Go to the scenery.cfg file and the area/airport is then displayed as the last in the list. Add the flattens and excludes (remember to save changes)
- Restart the sim and all should be good
Worked for me but others may have other suggestions.
Lawrie gives good instructions in the readme files. The only other problems I've had are me missing a step in these.

Thanks Bandit, I'll give it a go. Agree Lawrie gives good instructions, just was puzzled with regard the file.

Hmm, no dice, also seems strange that out of the 20 odd addon scenerys I have added and activated and flown from/to/over since fresh install on new pc on 22 july have not been added to the scenery.cfg
