This is going to sound needy and annoying but I'm gonna have to ask.
I'm thinking of buying Robin's realNZ NZWN but ue to financial commitments etc. I just want to cut back on needless spending (Sounds confusing and anal I know but don't bother with specifics).

If anyone has the scenery an some spare time, would they be able to post screenshots of the whole airport and surroundings but specifically around the eastern apron including the aero club and it's surroundings.
If anyone's up to it, I' be realllllyyyy appreciative.
Cheers,
Kelburn

I'm game ... I have the FSX version ... what about you?

It's one of Robin's best, IMHO. Plenty of detail ... and the surroundings look good too. Not being a native Wellingtonian, I can't compare it with the real thing. THe nearest I got to the airport was through binoculars from the Picton ferry laugh.gif

I'll post some up up shortly - but you won't be disappointed, I know.

I think Robin's NZWN is superb ... so, as promised, here are some fsx.gif screenies - some featuring the Aero Club ...

Some other views ...

2.4GHz Dual Core, 4Gb RAM
Nvidia 8800GTS 2Gb

For some reason, I get best performance with the framerate locked to 10FPS - otherwise I get textures not rendering properly, mushy tiles, or autogen not appearing. Water is set somewhere in the middle, but all other GFX sliders are pretty well maxed out. I've tried every tweak around and most of them made my system worse.

Robin's NZWN is good as it's [re]written for FSX, but I do get occasional framerate problems at NZAA as it's an FS9 portover. Both airports have loads of WOAI traffic winkyy.gif

To answer your original question laugh.gif ... on my setup, Robin's NZWN is perfectly acceptable - even at 10FPS thumbup1.gif

Thanks Adamski...you appear to have grunty card..Kelburn I can vouch that the Wellington FS9 scenery looks much the same...maybe a little less sharp because of the nature of FS9

I just purchased the RealNZ Auckland and Wellington Scenery on special this week, and I've got to say I am not disappointed. Have it running in FSX and it looks absolutely awesome.

Must say I like the little touches like the Warehouse building, as well as the other airport buildings.

Well done Robin.

Can you check and see if you have a file called yellow.bmp in your RealNZwgtn/texture folder?

I would not hesitate about buying the RealNZ Wellington. Like the other RealNZ sceneries, it is SUCH a huge improvement over the default or other add-ons, and they are so easy to install as well. Also good to support NZ developers as well. Money well spent I say, so do not hesitate, order it whilst it is still on special offer!!

smooth landings.

Rob - as a matter of interest ... is this THE control tower for NZWN? Looks a bit on the "modest" side winkyy.gif

"Tower View" takes me to an innocuous area to the west of the runway - in the middle of nowhere, really. I had a quick look on Google Earth, but couldn't see anything that looked like a control tower either (not that you can tell, from directly above).

Having never been to tha airport at NZWN ... I just don't know.
