I was just looking at a preview for the upcoming Tamworth scenery for Australia. (http://orbxsystems.com/forums/index.php?topic=13741.0) Extremely high quality and if they do NZ to the same high quality then we have something great to look forward to. They really seem to have cracked FSX scenery design, and I just wonder how much further they can go.

This has got me thinking about some of the scenery that I have already got installed. I think that it is time for a big clean up on the FSX scenery library. Comparing the new sceneries with the old, then the improvements are obvious. So it is time to uninstall some of the early sceneries. I find that I do not fly in these areas any longer, given that the new sceneries are offering so much more. Same with some of the earlier aircraft, which are now looking very basic. FSX has now come of age, and the technology has improved enough now to run it as it was intended. So now a clean-up of the early aircraft and sceneries is coming.

Interested to hear how many others at NZFF are also uninstalling scenery? Bit of Spring cleaning??

smooth landings.

I must admit that I'm often tempted to make a note of my *essential* scenery, then my favourite aircraft ... and then do a complete re-install. So many experimental add-ons I've tried must be killing my FSX.

Yet ... somehow, it still soldiers on! I do get the odd issue, but I have to say that for such a complex piece of software - living side by side with relatively "unproven" add-ons, it does a pretty fine job. I agree - I think FSX has "come of age" ... sort of just about the time MS decided to dump it laugh.gif
