NZFF

This is just a suggestion, I know we've talked before about a collaborative effort on NZFF, but it hasn't amounted to anything in the past.

In 2009 I started on a payware NZCH, but this was put on hold for a couple of reasons -- first, I ended up recuperating from surgery, and then when I got back into it I was not able to get any affordable aerial images.

There is now an image available -- this is in fact part of the aerial images shot a couple of days after the quake. This is a 10 centimetre image of the city released to the public under a Creative Commons license. Of course it isn't that suitable for a lot of purposes, as it does show the city in a very damaged state, but it would be good to get something positive out of the quake. So I'm thinking of a freeware NZCH, based on this image plus my handful of completed models, and finished as a NZFF collaboration. Hopefully to a very high standard.

I would love to see a well modeled West Melton Tavern , the Petrol Station , this maybe your department .. don,t forget the Chicken Farm , but i guess the airport is the primary target .

I have downed a few pints in the West Melton tavern way back in the early 80's

my mates mum and dad own the pub now .
Would love to give west melton a go but have never done anything like this before maybe its time to start learning

Ok, it's settled then, forget NZCH and concentrate on the West Melton pub...

I'm happy to do the ground textures, supply the existing models (not a lot -- aeroclub buildings, carpark building, Antarctic Centre etc) and work on some more buildings. I also have some rough animated jetways for NZCH which would be wasted if I didn't finish them. (Yes, the West Melton is THAT big!)
Ian Warren has put up his hand to do the autogen, but I hope to talk him into getting back into some 3D stuff.
We really need someone who can supply the ultimate airport facilities file.
If anyone has recent local photos of the airport, or the skills to build some models, or both, let me know.

I'm compiling a feature list, there's a lot I'd like to see incorporated in this, any bright ideas let me know. Things like FSDT GSX...

Andy , maybe the Yaldhurst Pub as well and the petrol station , they seem to fly over there quiet a bit .. 3D stuff maybe have all the time in the world for that stuff - maybe time to return
