Many, myself included, have had installation problems when installing FSX/ORBX/VLC etc sceneries. Usually these problems arise out of the presence other versions of the same airfield, whole or in part, within the Sim. AVSIM recently drew attention to a freeware package (Simple Airport Scanner) that lists duplications of NON DEFAULT scenerys within a particular SIM.

This may be found at http;//www.airportdesigneditor.co.uk/ [See the right hand box on the displayed page]

It does require that Microsofts SDK, FSUIPC and some other packages are preinstalled. I have tried the program and it did show one such duplication - in my case one which did not cause any problems. It may be of use to some that do have continuing problems

One issue that will arise is the fact having renamed airfields away from alotted or historical reference based from the original naming - example Des Lines was Swannanoa rolleyes.gif still be worthy tool tho .

It is a worthwhile exercise if you have particular problems with individual airfields. I do hope though that this tool explains how much care you need to take, and that not all duplicates should be removed. There's a recent discussion on FSDeveloper which explains some of the pitfalls -- Airport Scanners - Good, Bad or Downright Dangerous?
