I have jsut loaded NZOU and it looks great. Errrrr, did you do it from Google Earth ? The only reason I ask is that the general purpose hangers ( which do not show on the OLD Goggle Earth images ) are missing. I have a few pics which I am MORE than happy to send your way so you can do a quick update.

I have an issue which is PROBABLY ( but I am unsure because I am no expert at ALL with FS9 ) to do with the mesh ( Christians 75m ). I have grass on the runway and taxiways until I get VERY close. I have Christians Topo running, and have JUST twigged that his Land and Waterclass may be a Good Idea to install.

Anyway, its a vast improvement on the NON airport that is there in default. Cheers

oooopps.......my apologies, I have just seen an earlier posting showing ur Goggle Earth pics. The layout of the new hangers is basically an extension of the hanger shown in the 1989 pic, its just that there are 2 more now, of similar size and form to what is shown in that pic.

I'd still like a reply re the grass tho, as this also happens with NZWB and a few others. Its no biggie, but I figure the more I learn the more useful my own answers might become ( i try to help out the guys i VA with ). I am figuring the scenery was made for 20m mesh not 75m , and there may be an elevation difference ? Or I have not installed the AF2 properly ? Or I have not deleted / changed the default BGL for NZWB ? Is changing the file extension from BGL to TXT a good way of " deactivating " a BGL ?

I have been reading thru the NZFF forum. I reckon this is where I will ask questions in future as its has some great moderators and real expertise.
Part of the trouble I have is I get different answers to the same questions from different forums ( where to install AF2's etc ).

Anyhow, I have a real newbie type question that I will post separately tomorrow regarding why my reinstall has made a bit of a mess. Many thanks for giving your time and expertise .

Hi TOZ,............

I would say that the issue with the runway dissapearing under the grass, IS due to the fact that you are using the 75m mesh. The scenery was built for the 20m mesh, and there can be minor elevation level differences between the 2 meshes, although generally, most (not all), sceneries built for the 20m mesh will work ok in the freeware 75m mesh. If you have Lee Swordy's "AFCAD 2.21" program, you could try opening the AFCAD in that, and raising the elevation of the airport and the runways by 2 to 3 inches.

Did you make a COPY of the AFCAD into FS9 / Scenery / World / Scenery folder, as stated in my install instructions ??

I have a number of pics of NZOU, including older ones from 1989, the Google ones, and some aerial shots taken from a plane in 2007.

If you want to deactivate a BGL file for whatever reason, change the file extension to .bak (standard windows backup file extension).
