I finally put some time aside to import a mix of FS9 airports into FSX. I got some success so far, but when I add Peter Lohr's Mount Cook and Queenstown I get building crashes at both airports - although I'm in slew mode! Anyone else experienced this? Is this a SP2 thing?

Is it a drop in frames then crash or just drive up near them , Most would just turn crash detection off because of the crash boxes around the object could be way bigger than the object and FSX seems to be more affected by this ,the only way around it is what ive mentioned ....
The fix with making the objects is to remove crash boxes on each model but this means you cant crash effect on them if you have the setting on ..

I think the slew crash thing is weird and when i installed it i would get a massive drop in flps and assorts of things went wrong coming into Queenstown just figured that it was a afcad type old bgl file that ive found in others scenerys that could be the prob..

I don't think it's to do with the crash boxes. Something in those files isn't compatible with FSX. I did find a few posts via google where people had similar problems, but it seems to be isolated and no one knows whats causing it it seems. I wonder if anyone with FSX + Acceleration doesn't have this problem?

I posted in the "queenstown" topic that i had experienced the same "building crash" problem trying to load PL's NZQN (FS9) into FSX.

I use FSX+SP1+SP2 but not Acceleration.

Your post suggests it may not be an issue in FSX+SP1 (only) ??

It does seem to be a SP2 problem, although I'm not sure if SP1 also causes problems (don't run SP2). I tracked it down to FS2002 specific scenery and have created a lean version of NZQN that doesn't crash. I'll be making it available to Sim Pilot customers over the next few weeks.
