Is there a way to alter the files within the .cab file in the guages folder?
I am trying to change the bitmaps on an RPM guage to make it more realistic. I can unzip the file and make the alterations and then zip it up again and place it back in the guages folder (after changing the file type from .zip to .cab). Only trouble is that none of the guages show and I have to copy the original back into the folder.
Is there a special way or application needed?
Many thanks
Steve

Its Ok I have just found a Cab file compression utility for packing and unpacking cabinet files.
I will give that a go.

The program you need is called "Cabdir.exe" as Timmo said I think its in the SDK. Put ALL the contents of the CAB file into a folder of the same name within your panel folder. Edit what you want and then once done just drag the folder (that you made) and drop onto the Cabdir.exe icon - viola it will compile the new/updated cab file.
