WOW Day 4

Discuss aircraft addons and repaints for Flight Simulator here

Postby Charl » Tue Jul 29, 2008 9:05 pm

After an exhilirating weekend at the airshow, the lads choppered down to Queenstown for a bit more relaxation on the slopes.
Then back to Wellington, a quick hour-and-a-bit commute in luxury.

This one's been languishing in a corner for a while.
It's a competent enough model, but I hate learning half-assed and quirky avionics (Think Lucas Electrics).
Especially when they model the idiosyncracies, but then you discover they left bits out of the FMC.
Think it'll go back in the corner, if I have a yen for steam gauges I'll finish learning the Aeroworx Kingair...again

Nice shots Charl.
Cool idea too, a fourth day of WOW that isn't really WOW at all, just a skiing trip.

Good to see a business jet- I might buy one of the payware ones, there are no good freeware ones and Business Jets are my favourite to fly on FS. What companies do good ones?

Thanks, err...March/April...might be a little early in the season. Possibly a little mountain biking, followed by a Shotover Jet?

Eaglesoft ones are good, but often aren't fully modelled on the systems side of things. Some of the recent Wilco ones also look pretty smooth, but I haven't tried any personally.

I have a few, and they all require great patience to learn the quirky avionics (Seemingly common to bizjets).
Then you discover you've wasted your time, mostly, and go back to the stock Learjet. cool.gif

I use the default 737 panel for IFR generally anyway, unless the model has a good panel already, so I could just do that.

Hi ya chappie biggrin.gif James ... make that FSX Wanaka scenery a priority .. with an airfield you can Demo any type up to the C17 size smile.gif without feeling your breaking the CAA rule s and create some brilliant screens and the best part ...The exact photoreal airport and terrain ! and a perfect 'Red Checker' demo field ! cool.gif
