VRS SuperBug question

Postby Splitpin » Sun Dec 13, 2015 5:53 pm

Im wanting to buy this for PP3D , but on the site it seems its only available for use with the academic licence ... or have i missed something ? (more than likely)

I have tacpac , but a different P3D licence , seems odd that a sale would be restricted to a certain licence... and i cant be bothered with the FSX one , if i dont have to.

Nope, you're correct. It's only available if you have the Academic license.

Thanks for the reply Dave.
I got the professional licence (why i dont know) but i did. I cant understand why that product should be limited to a specific licence .
So , for whatever reason , they just lost a sale .....its good enough for Carenado , Razbam , Iris , and the like to offer product that's non licence specific .....
I think the VRS marketing gurus need to rethink this ... very odd.

The more i think about this , the more pissed off i get ..... what a rip off , to have too buy another licence , on top of the aircraft .

Someone at the Avsim forums summed it up nicely
"The P3D version is indeed more expensive. Looks like $100 with up to a $20 discount for previous FSX customers. However, it only works for academic licenses, and not professional or professional plus. This means that if you have to professional version you have to drop another $60 on an academic license, or possibly buy a much more expensive Superbug in the future for the professional license.

I love P3D but I feel like this whole licensing thing is just a f***ing cash grab from everyone. Same code, same product which you already bought, just repackaged for a platform which is already cross compatible and sold to you at the full price again (if not more expensive!). It has left me feeling a lot of negativity towards developers I once respected."
