It may not look like it but it may say "Kopako" which was the name of this Dash-7...actually looking closer it looks like what may look like a "N" maybe a "K"...

Brilliant, Naki! I think that solves it then, and it makes sense with the graphic's shape and size!
Just out of curiosity, how did you get that information?

I googled the reg and Newmans and came up with this site..

http://www.rzjets.net/aircraft/?typeid=90

I found another picture of the Dash-7 at the local library (the History of NZCH - Ian should have this book) ...it was a bit clearer and would appear to confrim that the wording is Kopako

Simply amazing! I'm at a loss for words at the amount of information the people here are able to dig up! Looking forward to the pictures! smile.gif

I can't believe that all I did was provide one picture of a short lived, obscure airline that has pretty much zero other images online, and within a couple days, we have the fleet listing, aircraft nicknames, airline facts, first hand accounts, and more pictures to come. The flight simulation community can truly be great sometimes!

Great! Saved those to my PC as backup!

Sorry to be a pest with the following, but I figured if someone is doing it, it should be as accurate as can be:

Do you know if those two images are of the same aircraft? (ZK-NEW)
The reason I ask is that I noticed NK-NEX has the flag on at least the right side by the window, and now I'm unsure of something leading to a couple conclusions that I have come to:

1. Both planes had the flag on the right side only. Located where the airliners.net shot shows it.

2. ZK-NEX had the flag on either just the right, or both sides of the windows, and ZK-NEW lacked the flag overall.

Also, just for WildBillKelso's painting needs to confirm that the wings did have for lack of proper terminology, engine exhaust stripes, rather than a plain white wing. You can see this on ZK-NEW and it looks like you can just barely see it on NK-NEX on airliners.net:
http://www.jetphotos.net/viewphoto.php?id=5826557

Update, also just to confirm my own suspicions, the red text under the "Dash 7" logo near the front of the vertical stabilizer says De Havilland Canada in all capital letters, as is just barely indicated here:

Great finds, Sean!
Also good to see the 'invasion stripes' on the upper wings (not as wide as on the Tindi one) confirmed.

Thank you for your pics too, Ian!

Looks like the light blue stripes were outlined with very narrow dark blue ones. Won't make things easier... sad.gif

Did I get it right that the flag behind the cockpit window is on starboard side only?

Cheers,
Markus.

Still not sure on the flag, and I guess if we don't get a response within the next day or two about it, I'd just put one on the starboard side.

"Resg.me",

There are already a few Jayhawk liveries spread throughout varous flightsim website file libraries. To start out, try looking on www.hovercontrol.com, in their file library.
Here is one for Aerosoft's model:

A stand alone Jayhawk:

Another standalone Jayhawk:

Hey, has anyone made repaints of AlphaSims Yak-52 for FSX?
If someone has some of the repaints for a Yak based in New Zealand, it would be great if you could give me a few.
Any Yak will do, KGB, YAK, 67, anything.

Thanks,
Dion

Would anybody be prepared to do an RNZAF repaint of Krzysztof Malinowski's P-40? The model itself is quite nice although it's a handful to fly. Here's a couple of shots of the defualt model. I think the VC is pretty neat.

The aircraft

The VC. It is a working VC, this is a view straight ahead.

The Malinowski P-40 is also available as a M/N-1, and someone did a repaint for "Currawong", the white-tailed P-40N-1 currently based at Wanaka. I would love to see that model with a paint for Geoff Fisken's "Wairarapa Wildcat", a P-40M.

Dan, regarding NZ repaints for Krzysztof Malinowski's P-40, I've done 2 repaints for it but never uploaded them, but I'll post some screenshots here soon for everyone here to see if they like them. One is P-40K NZ3061 FE-A and the other is P-40N NZ3254

Hi Dan, yes I'll upload them soon, still have to tidy up the undersides a bit. Also have done a couple of RNZAF paints for the default F4U Corsair as well so will upload these as well. They can be used as AI warbirds too.

I found something interesting!

http://www.airliners.net/photo/Milford-Sou...nada/1166073/L/

Didn't know that Twin Otters at one time graced the shores of NZ!

It would be great if someone could do this livery for Eric Dantes' DHC-6 Twotter! (Not really a fan of PAD's model, and I think it would look nicer on Dantes' one anyway...)

It looks like everything needed to be seen for this livery is captured in this one shot. (The only one I could find.)

Looks like we have:
White base
Dark green and gold cheatlines
Flower emblem
Clear registration (no dash between the letters...unique)
Clear logo to the left of the reg
Clear view of upper wings
Blue "Milford Sound" text
Orange "Flightseeing" text

If anyone takes this on, here is a nice repaint kit on Avsim.com:
tpu_paintkit_dhc6.zip

smile.gif

EDIT UPDATE:
Of course I start looking and found another ZK Twotter:
http://planesforsale.co.nz/images/PcQANTAS799%20053.jpg

Unfortunately this is the only image I can find of it.
Fortunately though, it appears that the livery is pretty simple, and anything that needs to be seen...is seen.
