Browsing the web today I came across this: (sorry if it's been shown before, I did try searching the forum first)

http://www.airforce.mil.nz/latest-info/ ... wnload.htm

The RNZAF have a full package P3K Orion in their colours on their website for download to FS9! Comes with a panel (average... pictured below), sounds and model, and two paint schemes, including the new 40th( ? ) anniversary scheme.

I know there is a great P3 package alreay out there (and I think it's better- especially the panel) but thought this was pretty cool that the airforce had one of their own!

Plus it's an easy exe install.

Some pics:

Thanks Alister! It's interesting that the RNZAF are distributing the file, actually, it's nice to see :D

PS, were you saving fuel in the last pic?

Awesome find AL, I have been looking around for the 40th anniversary repaint.

That panel is pretty accurate to the real thing, some gauges should/shouldn't be there but oh well.

Nice screenshots, off to D/L now!

They also have a pdf to download that you can cut out to make a paper version of a Hercules. Apparently it flies pretty well too :D

hmm-interesting that the pic on the airforce site also shows the out board left engine shutdown/feathered?
Is it a bug?

I'm currently at FL230, 74nm south of Taupo enroute to TG, and all props are spinning. It sounds pretty cool actually, and seems to fly alright.

Just saving fuel. I started it with engines running on the runway for my test flight so I shut one down to see if the props looked nice (and see how it performed).
So no bug, least not that I know for five minutes of flying time.
Sorry, didn't even check if it has a VC. Shame on me!
My wife has had my computer for the last two hours or I would have joined you Matt on vatsim with the P3 :D
I too think it's pretty cool the AF have this for download. Hook em as simmers, and make them want to move up to the real thing later! :D

Yeah I got about halfway through building that(well actually all I did was cut out the pieces then got bored/was told to study or something inproductive like that -_- ) but do think that its nice for the Air Force to be getting behind flightsim like this(probably subliminal advertising as they're so desperate for pilots at the moment :ph43r: )

No VC I'm afraid... I landed in TG, after a go around... didn't see runway till almost too late!

Ian Nun was there, watching me break the plane into pieces...

You may be able to spot the runway in the pic... I am about 300 foot above ground, peering through the haze. Couldn't see anything at all till I passed through 800... probably should have given up and gone to AA but the crew needed dinner.

A good lockheed electra panel would probaly look nice in the P3 but there are a few nice ones out there as well as good sounds.I know that FS2002 had a few panels and sounds, might be worth looking and at and trying to marry the best up.

How on earth did I miss this thread? Your screenies look awesome once again Alister.

Can anyone tell me which they think is better, the RNZAF AB Orion, or the p3_au_as.zip version?

The RNZAF P3 orion Is not too bad an aircraft but the panel really sucks

This is how the panel should look, after all it is the military version of the Lockheed Electra.

This is a version of the Console

It would pay to look at the readme to be able to use this panel to its best.In our one I also changed the sound,I prefer the sound pack that was Edited by Adrian Brausch
