Does anyone know where to download the MBB-Kawasaki BK-117 (ZK-HHV) owned Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (The red westpac one?)

There must be a download somewhere because I remember seeing a the Rescue Trust stand at the last Big Boys Toys exhibition, where you payed a few bucks to sit in a mock-up cockpit and fly the aircraft around on FS2004 (Using the REAL NZ Auckland scenery)

Any links or addresses I could contact would be appreciated.

Cheers

Hi Ian,

I search Hovercontrol and couldn't find it. Their website has had a major upgrade since the last time I visited!

Anyhow, I also searched the term "Auckland" and found the POLICE 1 and POLICE 2 Eagle choppers which I regually hear on my RF scanner and downloaded them instead so now I am more than happy :D

Check out this screenie I took:

"That'll be in the Herald on Sunday" ;)

By the way- the rotor blades look a little fake- does anyone know of a replacement set?

I have the BK117 in Westpac Livery on CD somewhere. I could upload it or GMail it to you if you want mate.

EDIT:

OR get it from Flightsim.com looks like these are the older FS98 files though they may work ok... westpac.zip and westpv11.zip

How did you get it on CD?

By the way- checked out the FS98 one and didn't like the windows too much <_<

I have it on CD as I periodically copy planes etc I download onto CD for save-keeping ;)

Anyway, I've found it, and it's 15 megs zipped. That sorta prohibits me from hosting it at the moment, but I've just sent it via GMail. Hopefully they allow that size attachment!

Edit:

It wouldn't send as Gmail do not allow .exe's in the zips. SO, I have uploaded it to my host and it will be there for the weekend till I remember to delete it Monday. If anyone wants it:

Be sure to read the Read Me, and you may find it sounds better with another sound file set, I found the original sound file seemed to 'whine' too much for me.

Thanks ever so much Matt! :D

I downloaded your file and installed it. Tis brilliant:

It turns out to be the ZK-HJC (Canterbury Rescuse) not ZK-HHV (Auckland Rescue) but I don't mind in the slightest. This week I have accumulated 2 awesome new kiwi helicopters for my sim so I couldn't ask for more. Thanks again Matt!

By the way, I also continuously add all my fs2004 installs onto a re-writable DVD at the end of each week just in case my HDD goes crook. ;)

I love that helicopter such a cool looking bird with the Gold Lion Logo on it! My friend had his life saved with that helicopter when they had a accident on the Desert Road.

Arslan Türegün, one of the Turkish members of Virtual Pilots Association, repainted it in the Otago Resuce colours recently after a request from a NZ member of VPA:

ZK-MAT, your picture did not show up for some reason?

Hope this works. Arslan hosted it on ImageShack but when I copied his thumbnail it didn't provide the full link. I have re-sized to 800 x 600 and put on Photobucket.

Awesome shot! I can see it now ;)

Is it available from Hovercontrol?

Woah! That would be so much fun to get picked up by one of those- although you would properly not enjoy it considering you are in a situation that needs you to be rescued...

I remember seeing the Auckland Rescue chopper landing on the pad at Auckland Hospital out my ward window when I was having my appendix taken out! It was great seeing it in action up so close- made my day :D It's a shame REAL NZ didn't include the pad on the hospital building in their Auckland addon though...

Hmmm, it was included originally, it just wouldn't work. Move it 20 metres in either direction and it worked, put it back and it didn't...
One day I'll figure out why and post a fix.

2nd row in the middle thats the bird I was going to be working on! If you have done that one the Taupo rescue Chopper AS350 squirrel then I would like a copy if I may please.

On monday the rescue chopper was called up on Mt Ruapehu! Was a bit surprised to see ZK-HNL which I last saw in Taupo a early June minus its engine. ZK-HNL is also owned by Helicopters Bay of Plenty and was acting as stand in for the Taupo Lion Foundation Helicopter which is having a bit of work done on it. Previously it was owned by Helicopters (NZ) ltd which you can just about see on its Tail markings still.
