'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

Any word on the progress or availability of this repaint of the NAC Heron for the recently released Flight Replicas De Havilland DH.114 Heron ?

A very nice model indeed, flies well nice VC and great textures.

Bendy, one aircraft we need is the Devon, has more a relevant NZ history and I'm sure must have been a few more in Oz .

Yeah I would agree on the Dove/Devon given the work that Flight Replicas have done with the Heron I was sure that a Dove would follow, the Heron after all was a stretched Dove with 4 Engines. We can hope. Lots of Doves and a few ex Devons used in OZ for years and years RFDS etc all had them. I myself have flown in the Heron, Air Pacific or Fiji Airways as it was known then from Fiji to Tonga very pleasant trip as I recall. One thing is for sure De Havilland always designed very good looking aeroplanes. Never scored a ride in the Dove though I chased that one alas they were all basically cactus in OZ ops by the 80s. Lots of issues about spars and other airframe stuff killed them off really. Herons went a lot longer but both were just uneconomic to run all in all. after all why use a Dove when you could have a pressurised airconditioned PT6 powered King Air with longer legs and more reliability.

The airframe, a metal frame - tail and wings wings off the Mosquito, the nose gear is a tail wheel of the DH98 and many other features , It would be an ideal follow on.

Adrian afraid not, looks like a small canard from the left hand seat. Does not bother me much the rest of it is excellent, but there is a problem with getting the radios on if you do a manual start, they wont come on until you press CTL+E again for some reason. Going to have put in a GPS its a long way from Suva To Tonga with no navaids, but then again they used to do that so why cant I.
