NZFF

Hi, fellas!

Since the Goose is delivered to OZx (and waiting for approval), I thought it was time for a yellow peril.
Warwick Carter's outstanding freeware T-6 was one of the first addons I've added to my pristine FSX install. I particulary love the startup sequence with its manual wobble pump and the amazing sound when the mighty P&W Wasp comes alive.

Starting at Ardmore (ORBX enhanced). Note the roundel's egg-shape: Textures get a little distorted - easy to fix that!




Haven't found the civil registration (ZK-ENG) on the reference pics. Shouldn't it be applied to the tailplane?

Above Firth of Thames. Weather is getting worse, time to close the canopy! Roundel is "round" right now - no more egg!




Thames Aerodrome (NZTH) comes in sight.




On final with some gusty crosswinds. Nice conditions for a taildragger...
The landing and taxying at Thames was awesome, thanks to A2A's Accu-Feel. Bumpy rides on soft surfaces are much more fun with it!




The stopover at Thames was used for adjusting the specular maps. This is a well-kept warbird!




What do you think? Did I add too much gloss?

What a nice flight!

I hope you can live with the inaccuracy of the wrong model (T-6G instead of the Harvard Mk. III). But compared to the amount of sheer fun this rendition provides, I don't care too much for the spinner and the canopy braces...

Some minor glitches still to be ironed out, any comments welcome!

Nice one Markus , I should actually ask Warwick very nicely and see if he could remove the spinner and put in the extra cockpit frames, she then would be a real NZ Harvard

John "Bomber 12th" Terrell was so generous to provide his sophisticated reworked master templates to me. A very fine gesture I appreciate a lot!
With the help of this "accuracy layers", this one has become one for the rivet counters:



Just to avoid the pristine "out-of-the-box" appearance, I've added some subtle tear&wear to the edges of the access panels plus a decent oil fume layer behind the cowling.




A new stainless steel plate beind the exhaust pipe has just been mounted.

One thing we have here in Christchurch is to get close up to the underside which show the very prominent riveting and wing truss bolts on the underside.

What could be better than one Harvard?

Looks Superb, got a little busy fixing PC's I did not get a chance to contact Warrick about a few details , spinner and frame.

This is today 'Historical Flight' it was repainted, show this to Barf and the guys at the Wigram Museum and they nearly spit tacks , It begin as he put the painters were to lazy to get the correct fonts, if want those details - Official RNZAF plans, gimme a yell and I'll send them though.
